Job Title: Youth Worker
The Youth Worker is responsible for providing support and supervision to young people subject to youth justice interventions.
This role requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team, delivering core programs that align with the Service Response Plan developed by Youth Justice Caseworkers.
Main Responsibilities:
* Deliver components of core programs while working alone or in teams to support and reinforce the Service Response Plan.
* Provide individual and family support to young people, ensuring delivery of high-quality services according to relevant legislative provisions and best practices.
* Consult and negotiate with stakeholders, including government agencies, service providers, and families, on behalf of young people to design and implement access to services and support networks.
* Supervise young people and assist them with compliance with bail, court orders, and reintegration into the community, in accordance with their service response plan.
* Participate in a multi-disciplinary team involving internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality casework and case management outcomes.
* Develop knowledge relevant to the role and actively participate in learning and development processes.
* Maintain accessible and clear case records consistent with departmental requirements to assist service response planning and reviews.
* Assist the Program Coordinator in developing weekly rosters of work for young people subject to supervised orders and bail programs.
* Conduct regular audits of service delivery sites and program equipment to ensure safety requirements are met and program activities are conducted safely.
* Participate in training and skill development to deliver services in accordance with best practice and contemporary youth justice.
* Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Travel within the region may be required for site visits and other regional/departmental offices, which may include overnight stays.
