**About the Role**
We are looking for a person who is wanting to grow with our company and lead by example. You will lead and mentor our grounds team to maintain our existing gardens and implement new landscapes to our ever growing and evolving memorial park. With our regeneration programmes, broadacre, parkland gardens and sacred spaces our unique setting is yours to make your own. We are after a committed leader who has passion in their craft to lead our dedicated team.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of one of the Grounds Maintenance Teams. The role also requires the capacity to engage regularly with our clients and other onsite stakeholders to meet their expectations. _Your main duties will include: _
- Supervise and lead a small team of gardeners, including apprentices
- Provide on the job training and mentoring in operational standards
- Coordinate daily workflow of equipment
- Maintain WHS standards
- Establish watering, irrigation, pesticide and fertilising programs
- Accurate record keeping
- Conduct site inspections to ensure presentation meets WHS standards
**About You**
- 3 years' experience in horticulture/landscape and garden maintenance preferred
- Experience in staff supervision/training desirable
- Be punctual, reliable and presentable
- Be able to utilise mobile devices and computer systems
- Display a respectful and thoughtful manner
- Have a mature approach with an openness to diversity and inclusion
- Strong attention to detail
- Chemcert, chainsaw, excavator and bobcat competency highly regarded
- Ability to utilise mobile devices and computer systems (support provided)
- Display initiative and be self-motivated
- Essential: _
- Hold a current unrestricted Driver's Licence
- Hold a White Card (or willing to obtain)
- Be willing to work overtime for operations or events as required
- Strong commitment to safe work practices
