Hays has partnered with a local organisation that is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant to support its finance team across accounts payable, treasury, payroll, and reporting functions. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes while contributing to continuous improvement across the department.
Your new role
Managing end‑to‑end Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and Aged Creditor reporting
Preparing daily and weekly cashflow reports, bank reconciliations, receipting, and maintaining cashflow forecasts
Processing payroll, subcontractor payments, superannuation, and payroll tax returns
Supporting end‑of‑month reporting including reconciliations, P&L preparation, PAYG and GST reporting
Assisting with EOFY processes and completing ad‑hoc finance tasks as required
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant tertiary education
Strong AP, payroll, and reconciliation experience
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Solid communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
