Our Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. We practice the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from the treatment of minor oral surgical conditions to the insertion of dental implants, surgery to correct jaw deformities, dental extractions, the treatment of facial fractures and temporomandibular joint conditions.
Our Central Queensland practice is based in Rockhampton, with a location also in Gladstone. Our head office is based on the Sunshine Coast at Birtinya.
ABOUT YOUR FUTURE POSITION
We are currently offering a permanent part time receptionist position to meet the needs of our very busy and expanding practice.
You will enjoy working in this established hands on patient focused position utilising your exceptional telephone etiquette, computer and administration skills. You will pride yourself in this highly regarded role offering a high standard of patient care, efficiently managing our electronic appointment book and patient records.
Your role is diverse and exercises your exceptional organisational skills on a daily basis. Your duties range from administration, receptionist, liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists and other health professionals, referring Doctors and their staff, efficiently assisting our surgeons in organising, preparing and planning the surgical requirements of a busy specialist practice.
You will undertake all your duties in a confidential, competent, caring and supportive manner and provide an exceptional standard of care to patients at all times. You are the first point of contact for the patients and any interaction you have is professional and courteous.
ABOUT YOU
You have gained at least 2 years' experience in either a medical receptionist / dental receptionist role. Experience in Dental Assisting would be desired but is not essential.
Your experience includes:
* Meet and greet patients warmly and professionally
* Answer high volume incoming patient calls in a courteous and professional manner
* Accurately receive and convey messages in writing, electronically and verbally
* Address patient and other health professional's queries, in a timely manner
* Liaise with referring doctors, other health professionals and their staff
* Coordinate and confirm appointments
* Provide patients with accurate quotes for surgery including all associated information and documentation
* Advise patients on surgery preparation procedures
* Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
* Accurately process billing, collect transactions and issue receipts
* Accurately maintaining an electronic appointment book (Genie Solutions or similar is preferred)
* Dental assisting is desired but not essential
You will be able to demonstrate your:
* Ability to provide high standard reception and administrative support
* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate warmly and effectively with a variety of people
* Ability to work well in a busy environment managing multiple demands
* High level of computer proficiency with attention to detail and accuracy, particularly using word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
* Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and clinic information
