School Accommodation Chef / Cook
The Capital Airport Motel is looking for a full time cook/chef to oversee the operation and coordination of the kitchen. This position offers a fantastic work/lifestyle balance, with favourable work hours, excellent holidays, and fantastic work conditions.
About The Company
The Capital Airport Motel is a school accommodation specialist located in Queanbeyan. We provide accommodation, meals, and entertainment services to both primary and secondary school students during their Canberra excursions.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our guests through a professional and friendly work environment.
About The Position
This is a full-time cook/chef position with ideal work conditions, allowing for a fantastic work/lifestyle balance. The benefits of this position include:
- Convenient Mon-Fri working weeks – with extremely minimal weekend work and Friday night shifts required
- No public holiday services – Enjoy the time off, that most chefs have to work.
- Minimal split shifts
- Potential for extended holidays throughout the year
- No unexpected service surprises – meals are supplied in bulk based off a consistent weekly menu and meals being pre-ordered
Meals are supplied in bulk for student numbers of up to 250, with individual plated meals being prepared for school teachers. Student meals operate off a consistent weekly menu, with each day of week being allocated specific meal options. This allows for easy meal prep and coordination as meals being served each week remain the same.
Teacher meals are ordered from a limited menu, with orders being placed well in advance of meal service (either morning of or days prior to that night’s meal service).
This style of kitchen operation creates a well-structured and consistent work environment, allowing for easy meal preparation well in advance, taking the pressures and stress away from service time.
