About the role

This position is responsible for contributing to a positive customer experience by actively providing service delivery by working as a team member and communicating effectively with customers.

On a daily basis you will:

* Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive engagement and a roving floor approach, ensuring every visitor enjoys a positive experience.
* Support library users with technology and information needs, including ICT services, mobile apps, and digital literacy programs for all ages.
* Provide expert assistance with research, reference, and access to library collections, programs, and services.
* Facilitate community programs such as early literacy for children and digital literacy for adults, fostering learning and engagement.
* Maintain a welcoming environment by managing collections, shelving, and ensuring neat, organized spaces for customers.

About You

The successful candidate should have previous experience of service delivery and improvement, with excellent communication skills and the ability to actively listen to and understand client needs.

You will also bring:

Qualification

* Completion of an Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) accredited Course. or (eligible membership of ALIA) and relevant experience.
* Working with Children Check.
* Criminal History Check

Experience

* Operational library and/or customer service experience, with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
* Experience in providing a range of library or targeted customer programs.

Skills

* Demonstrated customer service skills.
* Well-developed ability to communicate and build relationships.
* Demonstrated verbal communication, literacy and numeracy skills
* Well-developed conflict resolution skills, with a focus on de-escalation and win-win outcomes.
* Ability to perform well under pressure during busy periods.
* Well-developed PC literacy, including skills with mobile technologies and basic technology trouble shooting skills.

What's on offer

We are offering a permanent full time opportunity with an attractive remuneration from $78,199.90 plus 12% superannuation.

This position is based at our Wentworth Point Library. The successful candidate will be expected to work 35 hours a week, including weekends occasionally.
