About the Role
We are seeking a Telecommunications Technical Officer / Technologist to support installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications systems. The role involves working with network infrastructure, diagnosing faults, and ensuring systems operate reliably across different environments.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who can apply technical knowledge in real-world operational settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems and network infrastructure
* Conduct testing, diagnostics, and fault-finding on communication systems
* Monitor system performance and identify areas requiring maintenance or improvement
* Assist in network setup, upgrades, and system optimisation
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation and service records
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams on technical matters
* Ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements
* Support troubleshooting and resolution of connectivity and system issues
* Assist in project-based installations and system rollouts
* Maintain tools and equipment used for technical work
Skills & Experience
* Diploma or higher qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field
* Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant full-time work experience
* Strong understanding of telecommunications systems and network infrastructure
* Experience in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of communication systems
* Ability to analyse technical issues and provide practical solutions
* Strong documentation and reporting skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Ability to work across multiple sites where required
