Job DescriptionAt Mercure Perth, part of the Accor global hotel group, we pride ourselves on delivering warm hospitality and exceptional guest experiences in the heart of Perth. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance team and support the delivery of timely and accurate financial operations across the hotel. Key Responsibilities Support Department Heads with cost-effective strategies to maximise profitability Ensure compliance with credit approval and collection policies Monitor and manage payroll procedures and reporting Maintain and reconcile all in-house ledgers Monitor debtor balances and implement debt recovery procedures Manage hotel cashflow effectively Develop and improve financial systems and reporting processes Oversee audits to ensure compliance with financial standards Uphold strict cash handling procedures and policies Reconcile and deposit owner payments in line with management agreements Authorise outgoing payments in collaboration with Financial Controller and GM Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations Assist in preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasting with Department Heads Provide timely and accurate financial and statistical reports to all departments Act as Financial Controller in their absence About You Knowledge and Experience Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role within a large organisation Experience with payroll (PAYG, GST, BAS, payroll tax, workers compensation, superannuation, and accounts payable) Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Competencies Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments Passion for finance and hotel operations Understanding of industry trends and developments Leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor team members Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills Commercial mindset with strong business acumen Strategic thinker with long-term planning capabilities High personal integrity and professionalism Energetic, ambitious and driven with an entrepreneurial spirit If you're a motivated finance professional looking to join a dynamic team and take the next step in your career, apply now to become part of the Mercure Perth journey.
