Head Chef for Cape Adieu – 2026 Dry Season

Starting date - April

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join the team aboard Cape Adieu Harbour Cruises for the 2026 season, commencing in mid-April. This unique role offers the chance to lead the kitchen on a beautiful vessel, crafting exceptional dining experiences while cruising the stunning coastline of the Top End. You'll also have the privilege of cooking for private charters, creating unforgettable moments in a dynamic and breathtaking maritime setting.

Position Overview:

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu planning, with a native cuisine focus. Food preparation to maintaining high standards of hygiene and service. Ensuring the delivery of fresh, delicious meals to guests while managing inventory, ordering, and ensuring that all operational requirements and food safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency

• Lead and manage staff when required, provide direction, and motivation.

• Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained.

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

• Manage kitchen inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure proper stock levels.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role.

• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead by example.

• Excellent culinary skills with an eye for detail and creativity in food preparation.

• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm.

• A passion for providing outstanding dining experiences. With a focus on native indigenous cuisine and local produce.

• A collaborative and positive attitude, with a strong focus on teamwork.
