We are a locally owned, family run group of businesses based in Cairns, specialising in aluminium fabrication across marine and architectural industries.
Our brands include:
* OceanBlue Boats – Custom aluminium plate boat builds, designed and fabricated in house.
* OceanBlue Living – Premium aluminium gates, screens and architectural features.
* Dek Designs – Custom SeaDek fabricators and installers
While we operate across all three brands, this role will predominantly involve custom aluminium boat building within OceanBlue Boats.

About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a trade qualified Aluminium Fabricator to join our team.
Boat building experience is not essential — we will teach you everything you need to know about marine fabrication. What matters most is your attitude, skill level and willingness to learn.
This is a hands on workshop role working predominantly on aluminium boat builds, with occasional work across our other projects.
Responsibilities Will Include
* Aluminium fabrication and MIG/TIG welding
* Reading and interpreting plans
* Measuring, cutting and assembling aluminium components
* Working on custom boat builds from hull stage through to fit-out
* Assisting with other aluminium projects when required
* Maintaining workshop safety and cleanliness
What We’re Looking For
* Trade-qualified Aluminium Fabricator / Boilermaker
* Strong welding and fabrication skills
* Good attitude and strong work ethic
* Willingness to learn boat-building techniques
* Pride in workmanship and attention to detail
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
