Payroll Officer – Arcare

About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and efficient payroll services for a large workforce in the aged care industry. You will process end‑to‑end payroll for staff covered by multiple EBAs and awards.
Key Responsibilities
* End‑to‑end payroll processing for a large workforce.
* Manage new starters, terminations, variations, and retrospective adjustments.
* Process timesheets and leave requests in accordance with multiple EBAs, awards, and payroll procedures.
* Review and verify payroll data, resolve exceptions, and ensure database integrity.
* Administer superannuation, taxation, and other statutory obligations.
* Handle escalated payroll queries with professionalism and accuracy.
* Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
* Mentor and support less experienced payroll staff.
* Contribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
* 3+ years of end‑to‑end payroll experience in a medium‑to‑large organization.
* Strong understanding of EBAs, awards, and payroll compliance requirements.
* Experience working in a large team environment with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
* Proactive customer‑service approach.
* Excellent attention to detail, numeracy skills, and accuracy under pressure.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Self‑starter with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
* Experience with Chris21 and Humanforce highly desirable.
