The Opportunity
Reporting to the Melbourne based Treasurer with oversight from the Head of Portfolio Funding, you will regularly engage with the CFO, Finance executives as well as c-suite executives across the business.
The Treasury manager role is external facing, with the chosen candidate to be given the opportunity to represent the organisation when interacting with banks, investors, rating agencies, trust managers, industry participants as well as senior internal stakeholders and committees. As a result, you will be expected to lead by example when engaging with both internal and external parties.
Day to day you will be involved in monitoring group-wide liquidity and asset allocation, reporting trends and improving the allocation of capital. You will have the opportunity to lead and strategically drive the businesses product and funding strategy while remaining close to day-to-day operations as well as periodic reporting obligations.
The ability to self-manage your time; think critically; resolve complex problems; communicate and manage stakeholders; as well as drive and deliver outcomes are all traits the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate.
Key Responsibilities
* Negotiate with banks and bond investors to drive optimal funding outcomes for the organisation
* Participate in industry discussions and represent the organisations culture and values
* Manage the establishment, renewal and closing of securitisation facilities and funding options
* Provide leadership, guidance and oversight to Portfolio Analysts within the team
* Monitor and oversee liquidity and asset allocations on a daily basis. Ensure funding vehicle compliance at all times
* Provide insights and analysis to the broader business helping to drive new products and funding solutions
* Drive performance and operational improvements within the Treasury team
* Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships with internal parties
* Deliver reporting, participate in management committees, respond to queries from the executive team and key stakeholders in a timely manner
About You
The successful applicant will ideally possess 5+ years in the Financial Services sector, preferably from Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury, Liquidity Management, Asset Management or Portfolio Management. Additional skills and experience required include:
* Securitisation, banking or experience managing and negotiating funding facilities will be viewed favourably
* Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, commerce or a related discipline. Relevant post-graduate qualifications are welcomed but not essential
* Understanding of securitisation structures or funding structure and ability to read, comment and negotiate documentation
* Ability to negotiate with banks, investors, lawyers and leverage existing industry knowledge to drive optimal outcomes
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
* Demonstrated analytical ability, actuarial skills, and an ability to challenge existing process and procedures will be viewed favourably
* Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and communication skills – both written and verbal
* High level of attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
* Experience with securitisation or funding facilities will be looked upon favourably
* Ability to work well within a team or independently in a fast paced environment
