About the role
White Sands Estate is seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our team in Four Mile Creek, TAS. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality cuisine to our customers. This is a casual position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Head Chef will be leaving at the end of October and will train the selected candidate. Accommodation on site is available if required.
What you'll be doing
1. Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control
2. Supervise and mentor the kitchen staff, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and working efficiently
3. Collaborate with the management team to develop innovative and appealing menus that cater to White Sands Estate private events.
4. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
5. Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and budgeting to optimise operational efficiency
6. Foster a positive and productive work environment in the kitchen
What we're looking for
1. Significant experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role, preferably within the Hospitality & Tourism industry
2. Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
3. Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
4. Familiarity with inventory management, budgeting, and cost control
5. Passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes that delight customers
6. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
