About the Chance

We are seeking a Lawyer/ Adviser to join Australian Industry Group's national Workplace Relations Legal & Consulting team. As a member of this team, you will work on legal and consulting matters through Australian Industry Group Workplace Lawyers supervised by experienced Principals of the practice. You will be working at the cutting edge of workplace, industrial relations, and employment issues, combining strategic, practical and technically astute capability in the work that you do.

Whilst the reality of each day will be different, you can expect to be accountable for:
• Providing workplace and industrial relations advice, assistance and advocacy across both our consulting and legal practices;
• A high degree of direct member/client interaction, including advising across a broad range of industries from small and medium enterprises to some of Australia’s largest businesses; and
• Great diversity in matters including enterprise agreements, employment contracts, termination of employment, general protections, anti-discrimination, compliance, industrial disputes, and workplace health and safety.

To best succeed in this role you will have:
• Degree qualifications in Law and IR
• 1-5 years relevant experience gained from a well-regarded law firm, union, or employer organisation;
• Strong analytical and writing skills;
• Understanding of the employment and workplace legal framework;
• A desire to provide excellent advice and representation to employers; and
• The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
