About The Role

Preschools and Early Childhood Services (PECS) provides exceptional support and advocacy for high‑quality government early childhood education and care services that respond to the changing needs of children, families and communities in South Australia.

PECS works collaboratively with leaders and educators, with our colleagues across the department and across agencies, to provide high‑quality and nurturing early learning and care programmes, services and environments where each child can learn and thrive and are enabled to reach their full potential.

The Executive Coordinator reports to the Principal Policy Adviser and is accountable to the Executive Director, Preschools and Early Childhood Services for providing high‑level confidential executive, program and administrative support that contributes to the effective management of the Division. Acting as the first point of contact for the Executive Director, the position ensures the timely and confidential management and prioritisation of the Executive's diary and appointments.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role also oversees a range of administrative processes, business improvement initiatives, research and reporting activities to support the efficient coordination of divisional operations and achievement of work priorities. Key responsibilities include HR processes, budget management, financial reconciliation and workflow coordination. This position operates within a dynamic environment and is subject to periods of high workload intensity and shifting priorities that requires sound professional judgement, initiative and discretion.


Qualifications

* Essential: Nil
* Desirable: An appropriate tertiary qualification.


Special conditions

* The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
* The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

ASO5 $85,790 - $95,413 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
