An exciting opportunity has arisen in our TFCO team as a part time Family Therapist working with our team and office in Toowoomba.
As the Family Therapist you will work in a clinical team that consists of a program supervisor, carers, individual therapist, skills coaches and a teacher. The Family Therapist works to support restoration and is focused on making ready the family to receive the children home.
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the families of children/young people participating in the TFCO Program.
The FamilyTherapist will work closely with theTFCO team to support the permanent family(maybe family of origin or foster/kinship or permanent care family) to develop behavioural, coping and parenting skills according to the TFCO model requirements to ensure that the child or young person can return to this placement followingtreatment.
The TFCO program is particularly effective for children who may have a history of trauma and/or neglect. For more information see
What you will do:
· Provide aftercare placement family therapy to the child/young person's family
· Improving parenting skills, practice sessions, coaching interventions
· Provide case documentation
· Document all sessions so they can be reported
· Complete all training in line with TFCO
· Help families overcome significant barriers
