About the Opportunity
The Aboriginal Drug Health Team is a newly established multidisciplinary team in the South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Drug Health Service. The team will utilise a culturally responsive model to work holistically with Aboriginal people and communities to support consumers with drug and alcohol misuse, with a particular focus on ice use.
We are seeking applications from Aboriginal people as well a non-Aboriginal people who have a passion for working in Aboriginal communities.
The Senior Social Worker will provide clinical leadership as part of a multidisciplinary team providing culturally responsive care navigation and psychosocial interventions to Aboriginal clients and their families who are dealing with issues related to substance use.
The team will include a Senior Aboriginal Health Worker, 2x Aboriginal Health Workers, Senior Social Worker, Clinical Nurse Specialist, 2x Counsellors and Aboriginal Program Coordinator.
As a part of the SWSLHD Aboriginal Drug Health Team, you will be supported by an Aboriginal Program Coordinator and have access to a wide range of cultural supports across the service including cultural supervision, SWSLHD Aboriginal Health Unit and a large workforce of Aboriginal colleagues.
Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD operates its services on the lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra peoples and has a rich history of working alongside local Aboriginal organisations and programs.
The position has an office base in Cabramatta. The team services community across the South West Sydney area and travel across the district will be required.

5. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
