About the Role
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build their experience in hospitality and retail. As a Retail Casual at the Jerrabomberra Hotel, you will work closely with the Bottleshop Manager and retail team, supporting the day-to-day operations of the store while delivering a welcoming and knowledgeable customer experience. You will play an important role in maintaining store presentation, assisting customers with product selection, and contributing to the overall success of the venue's retail offering.
Scope of Responsibilities
* Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service to ensure a positive retail experience for all guests.
* Assist customers with product selection, offering recommendations across wine, beer, spirits, and other retail products.
* Maintain a clean, well-presented, and fully stocked retail environment at all times.
* Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently while handling cash and card transactions accurately.
* Ensure responsible service of alcohol practices are followed at all times.
* Assist with stock management including receiving deliveries, restocking shelves, and rotating products where required.
* Monitor store presentation, pricing, and promotional displays to ensure consistency and compliance with venue standards.
* Work collaboratively with the wider venue team to support busy service periods.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Previous experience in retail, bottleshop, or hospitality is preferred but not essential.
* A friendly and approachable personality with strong customer service skills.
* Interest or knowledge in wine, beer, and spirits is highly regarded.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain store presentation and organisation.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Current RSA.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
