A leading global fund manager with over US$1 trillion of funds under management is seeking a candidate with over 3 years’ relevant experience to join their Client Account Services team.
This role will be initially hired as a maternity leave contract for 18 months with a high chance of converting to permanent.
The successful candidate will complete the cyclical tasks associated with the funds’ rebate processes, including calculation preparation and payment value verification, instruction of payments across the business and external vendors, statement preparation, and issue resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Owning the end-to-end fund rebate process for the Australian Unit Trust clients, including Preparing instructions to transfer agencies and internal departments of rebate rates and payments by set deadlines each month, as defined both with the internal and external administration parties as well as under client agreements
* Ensure that in-kind asset transfers associated with new accounts, additional fundings, partial withdrawals, or account terminations are reflected in all appropriate systems to enable accurate and timely portfolio management and trading in accounts.
-Interface with broader Client Account Services Manager to gather pertinent information surrounding the nuances of each activity for communication and coordination with impacted internal teams to ensure a smooth transfer.
* Transitioning the rebate process from London to Australia
– Review the current process and work with the Finance teams & the Client Account Services team to determine how the function should be split between finance and the local client account service functions
– Set up controls and checks to ensure that the calculations are accurate and within the legal agreements
– Document the process and provide training to the accounts and client account team to carry out the process
– Dealing with external custodians, responsible entity, product team, finance teams
* Client Servicing for the Australian Unit Trust
– Back up for the Client Account Analyst answering queries from underlying clients of the Australian Unit Trust
– Dealing with Responsible Entity and external transfer agency in problem resolution where needed
– Ensuring client issues identified are addressed daily to ensure no client transactions are outstanding.
EXPERIENCE
* Over 3 years of funds operations experience and knowledge of requirements and the process for onboarding investment management clients across a variety of investment management business segments
* Advance level of competence in Microsoft Excel
* Analytical approach and attention to detail
* Ability to work to firm deadlines and effectively prioritise workload
* Effective communication skills in technical processes, verbal and written
* Client-focused and flexible approach
