Development Victoria aims to create a sense of place and prosperity through development, urban renewal, and community connection. As a statutory authority with their own Board, they create vibrant places across the state of Victoria by revitalising iconic public buildings, recycling public land, and creating important cultural and recreational facilities that benefit all Victorians.

The Commonwealth Games are coming to Victoria, and the state is excited to welcome athletes and visitors to Victoria's regions for a Games like no other. Victoria 2026 will run from 17 - 29 March 2026, with four regional hubs in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Gippsland delivering a multi-city model that captures the hearts and minds of people across Victoria. As the Victorian Government's development arm, Development Victoria is playing a key role in the planning, development, and legacy of the sporting and housing infrastructure used by the attendees and athletes of the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Reporting to the CEO, the Group Head, Commonwealth Games will lead Development Victoria's role in the design, development and delivery of the sporting and housing infrastructure used for the Commonwealth Games. This will be undertaken with the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Development Victoria Board in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders, and in accordance with Government policy. The Group Head, Commonwealth Games will build and lead a multi-disciplinary and highly skilled team to oversee venue upgrades and the construction of athlete villages to ensure they are fit for purpose, as well as thinking of the future of these assets beyond 2026.

In order to be successful, you will be a project leader and organisational ambassador with the creativity, drive, and energy to deliver on an ambitious vision over the next 4 years, which will require the ability to strategically allocate resources to get the best possible results. You have ideally worked in public sector, infrastructure delivery, property development or construction organisations and will demonstrate experience in building productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly government departments and agencies, and expertise in bringing people together to deliver high quality and timely project outcomes.
