About The Role
Our long-standing relationships and deep knowledge of the insurance industry have seen us recognised as the premier Insurance Law & Litigation practice in Australia.
Reporting directly to the Partner you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, collaborate with industry‐leading professionals, and contribute to the continued success and growth of our practice.
Responsibilities
* Manage cyber incident response matters from initial triage through to resolution, working closely with clients, insurers and technical experts.
* Provide practical legal advice on cyber incident risks, privacy and data breach obligations, including regulatory and individual notifications where required.
* Act as a key client contact throughout the response process, coordinating stakeholders, obtaining instructions and advising on recoveries and disputes arising from incidents.
* Advising insurers on cyber coverage issues.
* Act as coverage and monitoring counsel on significant cyber incidents with day‐to‐day carriage of matter.
* Preparing briefs for Counsel to advise if necessary.
About You
* A tertiary qualification in Law.
* A current practising certificate in the relevant jurisdiction.
* At least 4 years' post‐admission experience in cyber, financial lines or commercial litigation.
* Experience in insurance law, or exposure to the insurance sector, will be highly regarded.
* Litigation expertise to advise on any disputes or class actions arising from a data breach.
* Strong critical thinking and investigative skills, with the ability to approach issues creatively and strategically.
* Excellent legal drafting skills.
* Strong file management and billing skills, with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.
* A strong client service mindset.
* The ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with clients and key stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver to deadlines.
* Confidence facilitating presentations and meetings with a range of stakeholders.
* Proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and suggest practical solutions.
