PUBLIC AREA CLEANING SUPERVISOR – Events
Hamilton Island is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Public Area Cleaning Supervisor to join our Events Team, supporting weddings, corporate functions, and special island events. In this role, you will ensure all event venues, public spaces, and surrounding areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene — delivering a flawless experience for every guest attending our premium events.

Your Role
As Public Area Cleaning Supervisor within the Events department, you will oversee cleaning operations across event venues and public areas before, during, and after functions. You will supervise Resort Attendants, coordinate cleaning schedules aligned with event timelines, and ensure presentation standards meet the expectations of our premium wedding and corporate clients.
Where you'll make an impact
* Supervise cleaning teams across event venues and public event spaces
* Ensure venues are presentation-ready for weddings and corporate events
* Coordinate cleaning schedules around event bump-in and bump-out times
* Respond promptly to guest and client requests during live events
* Conduct inspections to ensure SOP cleanliness standards are met
* Maintain cleanliness of walkways, toilets, guest areas, and function spaces
* Report maintenance and safety issues to relevant departments
* Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment and service areas are maintained
* Support training and mentoring of new team members
* Uphold WHS policies and maintain safe working environments
What we're looking for
You are an organised and proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced events environment. You understand the importance of presentation in weddings and corporate functions and can manage a team to deliver exceptional results under time pressure.
To be successful, you will need:
* Current QLD Driver's Licence (Essential for identified roles)
* Previous cleaning or public area experience (Desirable)
* Previous supervisory experience (Highly regarded)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong attention to detail and presentation standards
* Reliable and flexible approach to event-based rosters
* Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends
* Positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong team ethic
