Road Safety Advisor
Full-Time Position
$102,760.32 per annum inclusive of superannuation guarantee

WALGA has a rare opportunity for a Road Safety Advisor to join the RoadWise team.
WALGA’s RoadWise is funded by the Western Australian Government to engage and facilitate the involvement of Local Governments in rural, remote and metropolitan areas of WA.
In this role, you will support and contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of road safety plans, policies, programs and promotions which align and contribute to the WA road safety strategy for reducing death and serious injury.
We are looking for someone with proven engagement and capacity building experience, a sound understanding of public health principles and health promotion practices and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
You will have an opportunity to learn about the RoadWise Council Framework which you will work within, and in this role you will also:
4. Proactively use a combination of engagement strategies and methods to involve Local Governments in the adoption and application of the systems approach to road safety.
5. Facilitate the planning, implemention and evaluation of local road safety plans, policies, programs and promotions.
6. Source road crash data and other research to assist RoadWise Councils in developing holistic road safety activities and monitor road safety performance on the local road network.
7. Advise and assist RoadWise Councils on evidence-based road safety strategies, methods and countermeausers for effective local road safety action.
8. Facilitate and/or deliver workshops and forums to build and refine the knowledge and skills of RoadWise Council personnel in better practice road safety.
This position will require a class ‘C’ Western Australian drivers license.
