Rural Lands Coordinator Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to lead initiatives and partnerships that make a real difference in the region. As a Rural Lands Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing Council's stock route network and obligations, overseeing weed and pest management activities, identifying and securing funding opportunities, coordinating strategic and operational rural lands work programs, and supporting advocacy and engagement efforts for improved rural land management outcomes.

The successful candidate will have experience in managing complex projects, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and communicating effectively with various groups. You will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

* Stock Route Management: Oversee the management of Council's stock route network, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Pest Management: Develop and implement strategies to control weeds and pests, minimizing their impact on rural lands.
* Contract and Agreement Management: Manage contracts and agreements related to rural lands work programs, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with stakeholders.
* Funding and Grants: Identify and secure funding opportunities to support rural lands work programs, developing robust applications and reports.
* Council Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and present reports to Council and other stakeholders, providing updates on progress and achievements.
* Community Education Programs: Develop and deliver community education programs, raising awareness about rural land management issues and promoting best practices.
