About the Role
The Manufacturing Planner plays a critical role in optimising production processes, managing material flows, and ensuring on‑time delivery of high‑quality products. Working across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, procurement, R&D, and QA, you’ll be central to keeping operations efficient, aligned, and running smoothly.
This role leads the production planning process, maintains the Master Production Schedule, manages MRP data accuracy, and drives continuous improvement using LEAN methodologies. It’s an ideal position for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and brings strong planning discipline to complex manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer demand and inventory targets
* Calculate capacity planning and support the Sales & Operations Planning process
* Maintain MRP system accuracy to ensure correct execution of production plans
* Coordinate with Procurement and Logistics to ensure availability of materials
* Identify materials at risk and implement proactive mitigation strategies
* Monitor production progress and develop contingency plans to stay on time and on budget
* Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and apply LEAN improvements
* Support New Product Introduction—transitioning from prototype to mass production
* Collaborate with Engineering, QA, R&D, and Manufacturing to resolve issues
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
* Manage inventory levels to reduce waste and cost
* Participate in cross-functional meetings and Lean manufacturing initiatives
Essential skills and qualities include:
* 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing planning or production scheduling (preferred)
* Strong experience applying LEAN concepts within manufacturing
* Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
* Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
* Excellent problem-solving abilities
* Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset
* Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure
* ERP/MRP system proficiency
* Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
* Full Australian work rights
Desirable:
* Experience with electronic or electromechanical component manufacturing
* CPIM certification
* Advanced Excel capability
* Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows
* Experience supporting new product industrialisation
