After launching our Australian offices in January 2020, we are continuing to grow, and the below role is yet another opportunity to start your journey with Slalom and help us shape the future.The Role / The Team:The Payroll Manager is responsible for customer-focused, efficient delivery of payroll services in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, while ensuring the timely, accurate and compliant delivery of payroll to our employees. This individual will provide hands on execution, liaise between internal teams, external partners, our employees and third-party vendors. They will develop their team to optimise operational excellence, identify solutions and further efforts toward continuous process improvements, internal controls, and employee experience. The APAC Payroll manager leads a Payroll team that currently consists of two Payroll Analyst/Lead, supporting four countries, with plans for continued growth. The role manages the implementation and operational workflow of administrative procedures as related to pay, tax, and time and evaluates pay practices to ensure they are accurate and comply with internal policies, practices and regional laws. What will you do?•Accountable for the entire payroll process from start to finish. Responsible for timely and accurate processing, delivery and reconciliation of payroll. Directs and oversees the team's production of regular and special payroll runs.•Lead and mentor a team of payroll analysts - coach, teach, guide, motivate and inspire the team, set goals, assign projects, and ensure deadlines are met.•Audit payrolls and support the Payroll team ensuring compliance, productivity, confidentiality, and efficiency.•Partner with Global Payroll Managers to develop core and common processes and improvements to scale and drive efficiency.•Oversee pre and post payroll procedures, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions that eliminate the root cause of issues.•Ensure compliance with all relevant reporting standards including tax filings and interfaces.•Build relationships and collaborates with customers and HR partners, facilitate a customer-centered approach to resolve issues, apply service level agreements, and implement process changes as needed.•Create, review, and maintain reliability and validity of department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/manuals for payroll system and all payroll related procedures, policies, records, and standard business practices to ensure consistency in operations and maintain workflows across teams.•Evaluate pay practices to ensure compliance with country specific laws.•Oversee tax and regulatory reporting and year-end payroll activities.•Assist in the resolution of complex and escalated payroll issues and situations; may work with leadership to make final determination on these issues.•Establish and maintain internal controls and participate in periodic control audits by internal and external partners.•Support payroll implementation as we expand into new APAC countries.•Participates in various projects and initiatives as business lead.•Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Bring•Educational credentials specialising in Payroll and/or equivalent work experience in payroll and within a business environment supporting across the APAC region.•A self-starter with people management experience including coaching and developing payroll skills, along with prioritising day-to-day work.•Ability to work effectively across all levels and layers of the organisation using exceptional communications skills and ability to influence and to adapt to changing business needs.•ADP Celergo payroll experience preferred.•Workday experience is a plus.•Proficient with Office applications: Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word Our ValuesOur culture and values reflect each individual Slalomer.
