Senior Testing & Operations Engineer
Responsibilities
* Plan and lead testing and test reviews on propulsion engines
* Design system level plans to carry out the testing and launch of sub‐orbital and orbital vehicles
* Review launch vehicle sub‐system designs for ease of testing and operational usage
* Develop and schedule maintenance plans for test stands and Ground Support Equipment in line with Australian Standards
* Assess and manage through appropriate controls the technical and safety risks associated with the testing and launch of sub‐orbital and orbital launch vehicles
* Perform key responsible roles as part of a launch operations team
* Innovate and suggest improvements to operational guidelines to improve performance, safety, or other critical factors
* Other duties as requested by Management
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline such as Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering
* 5–10 years of experience in the engineering industry
* Hands‐on experience testing and maintaining aerospace propulsion systems and associated ground support equipment
* High level of proficiency with data acquisition and processing technology and software
* Flexibility to work shift hours during launch campaigns or periods of high cadence work
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Sustained enthusiasm and interest in space technology and its application for space commercialisation and exploration
* Demonstrated resilience and ability to perform in a fast‐paced and safety‐critical environment
* Experience with engineering software such as data acquisition and control software, Product Lifecycle Management software, scripting and coding languages, and Microsoft Office products
* Ability to effectively communicate with or manage a range of staff in the business including engineers, technicians, WHS officers, supervisors and other support departments
