This reputable, locally owned Newcastle-based firm delivers a broad portfolio of projects across Defence, Education, Government, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Retail, and Hospitality, offering engineers exposure to varied and meaningful work.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Civil Engineer to support and assist in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects. Working client-side, you will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from design coordination and approvals through to construction support and handover, with mentorship from experienced project leaders.
In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects by supporting project planning, coordination, and on-site delivery activities. You'll gain hands-on exposure to client-side project management while developing your technical and commercial skill set.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with end-to-end project delivery activities, including design coordination, documentation, programming, and reporting.
* Support the management of project budgets, schedules, consultants, and contractors.
* Coordinate site activities to ensure works align with engineering designs, standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Assist with contractor and consultant management, including monitoring progress and quality of works.
* Liaise with engineers, authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.
* Support contract administration tasks and project risk management activities.
* Track and report on project progress, risks, and key milestones.
* Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
* A degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline).
* 3-5 years' experience working on civil infrastructure projects (consultancy, contractor or client-side).
* Exposure to civil works such as residential subdivisions, roads, drainage, earthworks, and inground services (water, sewer, stormwater, electrical, NBN).
* Strong interest in developing a career in client-side project delivery or project management.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with consultants and contractors.
* Organised, proactive, and eager to learn in a multi-project environment.
