About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Planner (Mechanical) to join our Capricorn Copper operation near Mount Isa in Queensland. This site-based role forms part of the Maintenance Team, reports to the Mechanical Maintenance & Projects Superintendent, and operates on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on supporting the restart and ongoing performance of our Capricorn Copper mine, including planning and coordinating process plant maintenance and shutdowns to ensure safe, reliable operations.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Leading the planning and delivery of restart maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and compliant process plant operations.
* Developing detailed maintenance scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and execution-ready work packages.
* Reviewing equipment condition, critical spares, and inventory requirements to ensure maintenance readiness.
* Generating and maintaining high-quality work orders, master data, and planning information within Pronto.
* Coordinating contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes.
* Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and visible safety leadership aligned with site HSEC and regulatory standards.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have strong mechanical maintenance experience, with proven capability to manage day-to-day maintenance planning activities, including large shutdowns, within mining, minerals processing, or a related heavy industry.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
* Mechanical trade qualification, ideally supported by a formal maintenance or asset management qualification.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including materials handling, pumps, mills, crushers, hydraulics, and rotating equipment.
* Experience working across structural and electrical interfaces.
* Proficiency with maintenance planning tools and scheduling software, including Pronto and MS Project.
* C-class manual driver's licence.
