The bare roots of the job…
The
Resource Systems Administrator
will architect, deploy, maintain and develop Forico's two key resource information systems – ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoMaster. This will involve:
* implementing best practice architecture
* management and backend maintenance of server-side GIS technology
* SQL databases and related applications
* normalisation and centralisation of core datasets within an SQL environment; and
* configuration and development of mobile, web and desktop GIS software to support business requirements
* ongoing troubleshooting, maintenance and development of Resource Systems (ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoMaster) to ensure timely and accurate spatial data access for staff.
The incumbent will also be involved in implementing activities as well as providing support to forest planning, operations and management decision making processes. This will require ongoing communication with internal clients to ensure the Resource Information Systems are fit for purpose so that staff can easily access spatial and resource data to inform such decision making.

Our ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification (Spatial Sciences, IT, Geography, Natural Resource Management or Environmental Science), in addition to being proficient with ArcGIS Enterprise suite of products, RDBMS and SDE. Database administration skills, GeoMaster forest management system skills, and programming and scripting would also be advantageous.
We are looking for a service-first mindset, with the ability to communicate technical information easily to stakeholder groups. An individual who is adaptable, has excellent organisational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as a member within the team.
