ROBAR Group specialises in delivering complex civil infrastructure projects across Australia. We are currently seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team for a range of upcoming projects across the Greater Adelaide region.
As part of our expanding workload, we are recruiting for major deep‑trenching works at the Osborne Naval Shipyard. These works involve trenching
up to 7 metres deep
, requiring personnel who are experienced, safety‑focused, and capable of working in high‑risk environments.
All applicants must
hold or be willing to obtain
Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications and be able to
pass a criminal history check
to meet site security requirements.
Available Positions
Leading Hand – Civil Construction
Supervises onsite crews, coordinates daily operations, ensures safety compliance, and maintains productivity. Requires strong leadership, extensive civil experience, and the ability to manage deep‑trenching activities up to 7m safely.
Pipelayer / Drainer
Installs stormwater, sewer, and water infrastructure within deep trenches. Must be confident working at depths up to 7m, interpreting plans and levels, and operating safely in confined space environments.
Excavator Operator (Deep Trenching)
Operates excavators for trenching, backfilling, and general civil works. Requires demonstrated experience in deep trenching up to 7m and strong awareness around underground services.
Experienced Civil Labourer
Supports the crew with trenching, pipe installation, spotting machinery, site preparation, and general labouring. Must be comfortable working in deep trench environments and assisting with tasks requiring confined space and working at heights capability.
Mandatory Requirements For All Roles
* Civil construction experience (deep trenching highly regarded)
* Confined Space & Working at Heights certifications or willingness to obtain them
* Ability to work safely in trenches up to 7m deep
* White Card
* Relevant plant tickets and VOCs for operator roles
* Ability to pass a criminal history check
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance
* Reliability, initiative, and a positive attitude
