About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6‑month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the finance function, with a strong focus on financial reporting, payroll oversight, compliance and analysis. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who can step in confidently and maintain momentum during a planned leave period.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations
* Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reports
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
* Support the CFO and broader business to provide financial insights and support decision‑making
* Identify and support continuous improvement in financial processes and controls
About You
You will be a proactive and detail‑oriented accounting professional who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.
You will bring:
* CPA or CA qualification
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting role
* Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and tax legislation
* Experience managing payroll and end‑to‑end financial reporting
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (e.g. Xero, MYOB or similar)
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation
Desirable:
* Experience in healthcare or government‑funded services
* Familiarity with DVA or similar regulatory environments
