Nan Tien Institute (NTI) is Australia's first government-accredited tertiary institution grounded in Buddhist values. We represent a unique synthesis of contemplative wisdom and modern academic rigour, offering postgraduate programs in Applied Buddhist Studies, Humanistic Buddhism, Health and Social Wellbeing, Applied Mindfulness, and Mental Health. The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Academic Dean to lead the Institute through a period of critical growth and academic innovation. This newly expanded executive role merges the portfolios of Education and Research, providing a unified mandate to build NTI's scholarly and educational reputation.
Reporting directly to the President, the Academic Dean will be a visible leader on our Wollongong campus, responsible for providing high-level administrative oversight of academic programs, supervision of academic staff, and implementing our Research Strategy.
Responsibilities
* Strategic leadership and management of Learning and Teaching.
* Leadership of Research Strategy and pursuit of external funding.
* Contribution to teaching in an area of relevant expertise.
* Supporting the TEQSA reregistration process (currently underway, due October 2026).
* Leading the transition toward self-accrediting status.
