About the role Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will provide active support to 4 males with disability living in Burwood. The successful candidate will have previous experience with behaviours of concern and be confident in working 1:1 to support a person in the community alone. You will be a dedicated and compassionate support worker who is passionate about active support and helping people achieve their goals and dreams. You must be able to commit to one of the set permanent part time roster below which includes sleepovers. Roster Split 55:30/60:00 Roster Split 57:00/59:30 Key responsibilities: Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities Maintain thorough record keeping Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues Advocate for client choice and control Skills & Experience Experience with behaviours of concern A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities. Ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan. Confidence and experience in providing personal care Experience in manual handling Cert IV in Disability or similar A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate. A current unrestricted Driver Licence and willingness to drive a company van. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years.
