We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants (SNEA) for permanent and fixed term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027.
Karrinyup Primary School is a primary school in Western Australia, educating approximately 550 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in delivering planned programmes and ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Operate computers and digital technologies to support teaching and learning processes.
* Implement individual or small group programmes or demonstrations.
* Provide feedback on education and therapy programmes and participate in the evaluation of student progress.
* Support students with self‐regulation of behaviour and social‐emotional responses.
* Assist with general health and wellbeing of students and apply various strategies to develop communication and socialisation skills.
* Collaborate closely with teachers to develop and maintain supportive education programmes tailored to individual student needs.
Qualifications & Experience
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate well with teachers to create and maintain supportive education programmes.
* Experience working with students with special needs, particularly with self‐regulation of behaviour and social‐emotional responses.
* Experience using a variety of strategies to develop communication and socialisation skills.
* Previous experience supporting type one diabetic students is advantageous.
Eligibility
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
* Valid Working With Children Check before starting.
