About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Audio-Visual Operations Manager to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day crew operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery through to strategic coordination and effective stakeholder collaboration. This role focuses on optimising workforce performance through recruitment strategies, training oversight and accountability systems. Key responsibilities include managing EBA reporting, pay confirmations, agency shift validation and financial accountability for labour. This role will require work to be performed outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet event requirements and client needs, with regular after-hours contact expected.

Responsibilities

* Provide daily direction and support to Audio Visual EBA employees and agency staff throughout the day.
* Manage operational staff resourcing according to event requirements, daily operational requirements and in accordance with the VCET Enterprise Agreement.
* Assist and provide input into rostering of technical staff for events and daily duties.
* Lead by example in ensuring all technicians and agency staff provide technical services to agreed levels of quality and consistency and demonstrate ownership for service delivery.
* Approve timesheets for all Audio Visual EBA employees.
* Track and report all resource variations from planned schedule.
* Assist in creation of employee rosters in conjunction with the Work Force Scheduling & Live production teams.
* Provide strong leadership to the Audio-Visual team, including the casual employees.
* Undertake managerial tasks including recruitment, return to work and leave management for direct reports.
* Coordinate regular team meetings to share business updates and address challenges and suggestions for improvement with employees.
* Report on labour and agency expenditures as percentage of revenue.

Qualifications

* Construction (White) Card
* EWP (Possession of relevant qualification EWP (>11m) license (HR Boom)
* Intermediate Rigging License
* Demonstrated experience in the AV industry, ideally from a large-scale venue such as a convention and exhibition centre.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and make reasonable operational decisions.
* Strong people leadership experience and capability, in particular experience with leading mid-sized, casual, unionised workforces of AV Technicians.
* Growth mindset with a capability to embrace, adapt and respond to change.
