Mamu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC invites members and the wider community to apply for a Part‑Time Finance Officer position, working 24 hours per week across 3 days.


About the Role :

We are seeking a candidate with solid accounting experience to support our finance operations. Reporting to the Operational Manager, the Finance Officer will be responsible for performing duties within established guidelines. While most tasks will follow set procedures, some may require detailed instructions. The role involves limited decision‑making and initiative, appropriate to the candidate's skills and experience. Work will be subject to final review and, where necessary, progress checks.


Key Responsibilities :

The Finance Officer will be responsible for a range of financial and administrative tasks, including but not limited to :


Financial Duties :

* Maintain accurate financial records and journals, including initial processing and data entry.
* Update and manage financial data using MYOB accounting software.
* Reconcile accounts to ensure they are balanced and accurate.
* Manage incoming and outgoing payments, including:
o Cheques
o Invoices
o Debit and credit transactions
* Input and process payroll data.
* Reconcile petty cash and debit card transactions.
* Ensure timely processing of payments and invoicing.


Administrative Duties :

* Handle financial correspondence, including emails and mail.
* File, collate, and photocopy financial documents.
* Collect, manage, and distribute financial mail and emails within the corporation.


Computer & Software Use :

Utilize various computer applications and software packages, including :

* Creating and managing files and records
* Developing spreadsheets and worksheets
* Using graphics tools as needed
* Managing accounting and payroll files
* Following standard procedures and utilizing existing templates or data fields


Other Duties :

Perform additional tasks as directed by the Operational Manager.


Roles and Responsibilities

The Finance Officer will be responsible for a range of financial and administrative functions, including :

* Managing Accounts:
o Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
o Reconciling bank accounts and general ledger accounts
o Monitoring and reporting on cash flow
* Payroll & Compliance:
o Processing payroll accurately and on time
o Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
* Reporting & Support:
o Supporting month‑end and year‑end financial reporting
o Providing financial reports to Directors at monthly board meetings
o Offering ad‑hoc assistance to Directors as required
* Administrative Duties:
o Managing the finance inbox and providing general administrative support
