About The Role
We're seeking a proactive and detail‐driven Legal Assistant to support our Personal Injuries team in Cairns on a 12‐month parental leave contract. You'll provide essential administrative and legal assistance that helps our clients navigate life‐changing injuries with clarity and compassion.
What You'll Be Doing
As an integral part of our Personal Injuries practice, you will:

* Deliver high‐quality administrative and legal support to lawyers, ensuring matters progress efficiently and accurately.
* Build strong, empathetic relationships with clients, referrers, and medical or legal professionals.
* Prepare PI‐related legal documents, briefs, correspondence, claims forms and authorities.
* Assist with obtaining medical records, medico‐legal reports, expert opinions, and other supporting documentation.
* Support the preparation of matters for conferences, mediations and court hearings.
* Manage electronic and physical filing, including opening, closing and archiving files.
* Contribute to team projects, process improvements, and broader office administrative needs.
What You'll Bring
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
* Previous customer service experience (essential); experience in legal administration or the personal injuries space is desirable but not essential.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines.
* High attention to detail and confidence working in a fast‐paced, client‐centred environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A compassionate and professional approach when supporting injured clients.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills and digital literacy.
* A positive, team‐focused approach with a willingness to learn.
