About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and capable Head Chef to lead the
kitchen of a high-volume, 120+ seat café-restaurant in Windsor NSW.
This is a leadership role for someone who takes pride in standards, runs a disciplined kitchen, and understands how to deliver quality food consistently during busy service. You will oversee daily operations, lead the team, manage food cost and stock control, and maintain strong compliance across all food safety and WHS requirements.
The kitchen is well-equipped, the venue is positioned for strong trade, and you will be supported by an engaged ownership team that values professionalism and long-term growth.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
● Leading kitchen operations across all services
● Managing and mentoring the kitchen team
● Designing and refining seasonal menus in line with the venue direction
● Maintaining strong food cost control and portion discipline
● Overseeing ordering, supplier relationships, and stock rotation
● Implementing systems for prep, service flow, and consistency
● Ensuring full compliance with NSW Food Safety and WHS standards
● Managing rosters to align labour cost with forecasted trade
● Maintaining a clean, structured, and respectful kitchen culture
This is not just a service chef role — this is a true leadership position.
What We’re Looking For
● Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous in a busy, high-volume environment
● Strong understanding of cost control and kitchen systems
● Ability to manage a team calmly during peak service
● Solid knowledge of NSW food safety requirements
● Confidence in rostering and labour management
● Experience running 100+ cover services
