Location: WA Mine Site (FIFO from Perth) 
Roster: 4:3 FIFO 
Contract Length: Starting on 6 months, budgeted for 12. 
Rolling contracts from there on. 
Rate: $90–$105/hr + Super

About the role 
We're seeking a Project Engineer with SMP or mechanical experience to support a range of sustaining capital projects on a WA iron ore mine site. 
You'll be working on upgrades such as Vault 3, chute replacements, and other brownfield improvements across fixed plant infrastructure. 
This is a site-based role requiring hands-on involvement in scoping, budgeting, execution, and commissioning. 
You'll be part of a cooperative and well-balanced team, reporting to a supportive leader with 6 direct reports (2 electrical, 1 cost, 1 scheduler, 1 planner and yourself). 
Key responsibilities 
Define scope for future projects to enable accurate budgeting and planning. 
Support PMs and supervisors in delivering brownfield asset maintenance and upgrades. 
Manage projects from FEL through to commissioning. 
Oversee works including: 
Asset replacement and upgrades 
Obsolete equipment replacement 
Structural remediation (steelwork, civils, concrete) 
Engage confidently with stakeholders and maintain positive working relationships. 
Requirements 
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) 
Minimum 3 years' experience in mining, ideally in fixed plant projects 
Strong background in SMP or mechanical execution 
Experience across dry and wet plant environments 
Proven ability in project design, scheduling, safety in design, commissioning, and QA 
Site-based experience essential 
Strong stakeholder engagement and team collaboration skills
