Operational Readiness Lead | 3 Month Contract | ASAP - September 2025
The Opportunity:
We are working with Queensland Correction Services who are seeking a Business Readiness Manager to orchestrate the flawless transition of operations into their recent South Queensland Correctional Precinct in Lockyer Valley.
Working with the Centre Operations (Business Readiness) Project Director your focus will be on 'fusing' the outputs generated within the wider SQCP-S2 Operations Project to ensure these outputs are consolidated and structured in a way that is fit for purpose and supports operational readiness, otherwise referred to as 'Day One' operations.

What You'll Do:
- Support the smooth transition and business continuity by assessing readiness levels and implementing necessary actions and resources to ensure QCS is ready for operations at the new facility.
- Assess by evaluating the business' current state, identifying potential gaps in its ability to support the transition.
- Support employees embrace new technologies and processes.
- Ensure key stakeholders are actively engaged in the planning and implementation process to ensure alignment and buy-in.
- Provide clear and consistent communication to keep stakeholders informed about the changes and their impact. Provide support to the Program and impacted people with the necessary training and resources to adapt to the new processes and systems.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the transition.
- Creating a plan that outlines the strategies for tracking and measuring the business' readiness for the transition.
- Develop, implement and maintain business readiness templates, tools and frameworks tailored to the project and organisational needs.
- Track and report on readiness indicators, including providing recommendations for go/no go decisions;
- Provide ongoing support to ensure the business can operate safely and effectively.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years in operational readiness, change management, or large-scale transitions (e.g., facility relocations, ERP/software rollouts, post-merger integrations).
- Proven ability to consolidate cross-functional inputs into user-friendly outputs (playbooks, dashboards, SOPs).
- Proven experience in Program Governance and delivery
- Strong stakeholder management-able to rally teams and drive decisions without direct authority.
Ideal Candidates Might Also Have:
- Certifications like Prosci, PMP, or Agile (not mandatory).
- Background in regulated environments (pharma, manufacturing, finance) or Government transformations.
- A toolkit of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
