About the role
The Gas Metering & Settlements team is accountable for the accurate, compliant, efficient financial settlement, metering data and retail market operations of the east coast and WA gas markets under the National Gas Rules (NGR) and relevant procedures. The team also contributes to design and delivery of market reform initiatives and projects that enhance market and process efficiency.
Under minimal supervision you will use analytical skills and operational knowledge to execute complex operational processes in compliance with relevant regulations, rules and procedures and use sophisticated analytical skills to contribute to ongoing market enhancement and process improvement projects and activities. You will provide high quality stakeholder support and establish excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What you will be doing
* Perform all operational functions in compliance with rules, regulations and procedures within defined deadlines.
* Identify, report, assess and manage compliance or technical and operations issues and risks, and implement identified solutions.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, provide high quality support and respond to detailed market queries.
* Recommend process improvements that reduce compliance risk and improve operational efficiency and organisational capability.
* Using an understanding of systems, rules and processes, undertake complex quantitative and qualitative analysis which assess market outcomes to inform decision making or support projects.
What you will bring to the role
* Degree in economics, computing, commerce, engineering, science or a related discipline.
* Operational experience in a commercial or regulatory environment.
* Passion for energy with an understanding of key issues impacting the energy sector would be highly regarded and demonstrated ability to propose technically resourceful, evidence-based solutions to issues and execute solutions in a timely manner.
* Demonstrated ability to develop high quality written reports and deliver effective presentations which communicate technical concepts or complex data analysis to informed audiences.
* Demonstrated experience operating in compliance with technical documents and/or legal instruments, such as rules and regulations.
