About the role

The Occupational Therapist – NDIS Services provides culturally responsive, high‐quality occupational therapy services for people living with disability within the Central Australian community. Services are delivered through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The Occupational Therapist supports NDIS participants to optimise independence and function within their personal, family, and community roles. The role fosters self‐determination by supporting participant choice and control over service delivery and works in partnership with service users, families, and key stakeholders to enable progress toward participants' NDIS goals.

The Congress NDIS Occupational Therapy caseload includes a wide range of conditions and functional presentations across the lifespan. Due to current service demand, we are particularly interested in hearing from Occupational Therapists with an interest or experience working with adults with cognitive and psychosocial disabilities. However, applicants with other clinical interest areas are also encouraged to apply.

This position is primarily based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs); occasional remote travel may be required.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with relevant clinical experience.
* Experience working in a community based occupational therapy service within a multidisciplinary team, including working with a broad range of clients from varying socioeconomic backgrounds with a wide range of functional impairments.
* Flexible and creative approach to providing occupational therapy services that is responsive to the needs of the community.
* Ability to partner with service users, including them in goal setting, care planning and care co‐ordination to identify priorities.
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
* Current NT Driver Licence or equivalent or the ability to obtain.

What we offer:

* Work that is community‐led, impact‐focused and a part of the bigger picture.
* Opportunities to grow, including 15 days of professional development per year, with pathways including master's programs and study placements.
* A flexible work policy including flexible start and finish times, compressed work weeks, part‐time and casual roles, hybrid work models and the possibility to purchase additional paid leave.
* Salary packaging for full‐time, part‐time and casual employees.
