Harry's on Buderim is an iconic restaurant hidden in the Sunshine Coast's Buderim Forest Park and offers modern Australian cuisine in a 60 seat, 142-year-old homestead. The restaurant manager will work within a team and directly with award winning chef and owner Stuart Bell.
Ideally the candidate should have had previous managerial experience in hospitality venues and looking for a long term commitment. A handover period with the current Restaurant Manager who is semi retiring will offer training and support to ensure a smooth transition.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for:
* Overseeing daily FOH operations with a strong focus on service excellence
* Driving a culture of professionalism, energy, and hospitality at the highest standard — equivalent to a Chef Hat–rated venue
* Managing rosters, labour costs, and operational budgets in line with business targets
* Train, mentor, and motivate team members to uphold high standards of professionalism, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
* Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and quality control.
* Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies for enhancing the guest experience and increasing profitability.
* Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to optimise financial performance.
* Handle guest inquiries, emails, feedback, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
* Closely work with Chef/Owner Stuart Bell & Events Manager in coordinating events, functions and monthly degustation's.
* Develop and maintain existing a new supplier relationships.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager (or Assistant Manager ready to step up) in an elegant dining or premium hospitality environment.
* Solid knowledge of food, wine, and beverage/sommeliers service, with the confidence to support and educate the FOH team.
* Experience in operating hospitality booking and operations software such as NowBookit, Lightspeed, Deputy, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office.
* Experience in a Chef Hat–awarded or Michelin-recognised restaurant is highly beneficial.
* Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing and motivating a diverse team.
* Experience in arranging seating plans for everyday service, functions and events.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with guests and team members.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
* Full Time role including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
