**Job Overview**
This role presents a unique chance for a groundwater specialist to join our team in Newcastle and contribute to the delivery of high-quality environmental services.
We are seeking an experienced hydrogeologist with a strong background in field studies, monitoring programs, and data interpretation. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking routine integrated monitoring programs, performing site investigations, and preparing quality reports based on field and laboratory data.
The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in water resources, hydrogeology, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in applied geological projects. Proficient written and verbal skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex issues concisely, are essential. Travel is required for this role, and experience with GIS and spatial data analysis software packages would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling
* Perform field studies, such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, and hydraulic testing
* Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for clients
* Interpret multi-disciplinary scientific data to develop sound conceptual hydrogeological models
Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in water resources, hydrogeology, or a related discipline
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in applied geological projects
* Proficient written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
* Experience with GIS and spatial data analysis software packages (highly desirable)
