Substation Protection and Control Engineer
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of substation equipment, protection systems, and control circuits. This role requires the ability to design and develop medium to extra high voltage utility substation designs, including one-line diagrams, P&C equipment selection, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and engineering documentation.
This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced engineer to leverage their skills in electrical design, coordination, and project management. The successful candidate will work closely with CAD designers/drafters to develop drawing packages, coordinate designs with other disciplines, participate in quality assurance and quality control programs, and contribute to engineering proposal development and project scheduling and budget management.
To excel in this position, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited university, excellent command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, and strong English language skills for effective communication with internal team members and external clients. Additionally, a valid U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is required.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop complex electrical utility substation designs compliant with client standards.
* Perform detailed P&C design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
* Collaborate with CAD designers/drafters on drawing packages.
* Coordinate designs with other disciplines such as Substation Physical, Structural, and Civil.
* Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs.
* Contribute to engineering proposal development and project scheduling and budget management.
