Responsibilities & Qualifications
Ideal candidate: This opportunity would suit an enthusiastic and agile leader with the ability to manage the activities of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of services and programs supporting work health and safety across the Construction sector in NSW.
Key responsibilities and skills include:
Ability to manage resources to deliver regulatory responses, services and programs
Lead and manage a team and support a high performing organisational culture
Identify and respond to emerging issues and risks
Deal with complex matters in a highly sensitive environment
Promote and influence implementation of organisational direction and programmes to external stakeholders
Stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
Experience with cross-agency jurisdictions and working groups
Lead the business unit through innovative use of digital technologies
Manage functions and responsibilities of Inspectors as per the Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislation
Represent SafeWork NSW through media channels as required
High level oral and written communication skills
Strong understanding of the Construction industry is preferred

Work a 38-hour week, including some weekends and participation in After-Hours Emergency Response Service.

Hold a NSW 'C' class driver's licence with satisfactory record and maintain it; satisfactory criminal record check and medical assessment required.
Complete the 12-month New Inspector Training Program (NITP).
