About You
We are looking for an experienced hospitality all-rounder who is commercially and procedurally minded, with a proven track record of leading successful teams and building strong relationships with both new and existing customers. You'll be passionate and creative in driving the business forward, while modelling impeccable standards of workplace culture, behaviour and respect, and setting your team up for success.
To thrive in this role, you'll be a mature, progressive and energetic leader with a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality and people management. You'll be confident overseeing business-building activity, problem-solving, and developing new processes and procedures, with a strong understanding of how positive workplace culture is built and sustained through clear, respectful leadership by example.
This role requires roster flexibility across day night shifts, weekdays and weekends, and Public Holidays. If you love people, games, fun and a high-energy work environment, this could be the role for you

About the Role
The Venue Manager is integral to the overall success of the business and our people. Reporting to the Director of Operations & executive team based in Melbourne, the primary duties of the Venue Manager are to oversee all operations relating to Fortress Sydney and to offer support to the Melbourne head office team as required.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Overseeing day-to-day operations, including opening/closing, staffing & resource management.
* Leading, mentoring & supervising Front of House staff, fostering teamwork, diversity & excellence in service through impeccable processes.
* Overseeing shift operations, ensuring smooth service, adequate staffing, stock control & supplier coordination.
* Ensuring compliance with OH&S, liquor licensing, food safety & other regulatory requirements, responding to incidents as needed.
* Delivering high-quality guest experiences by addressing queries, resolving complaints, and assisting with gaming products & systems.
* Driving recruitment, rostering, training, performance evaluation & operational improvements to meet business goals.
* Exemplifying & driving a clear culture of positivity, mutual respect & integrity within the venue at all times.

What You'll Bring
* 5+ years of demonstrated front-line management experience in a similar fast-paced hospitality environment. (Formal hospitality qualification will be an advantage)
* Experience in managing teams of employees.
* Experience in developing & driving workplace procedures.
* Holds a current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, First Aid Certificate & Employee-level Working With Children Check.
* Ability to interpret & deliver on budgets, forecasts & objective-based reporting.
* Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both written & verbal.
* Advanced computer & system platform literacy.
* Exceptional organisational, time management & problem-solving skills, with a high level of strategic & analytical thinking.
* A professional standard of presentation with a friendly demeanour, an approachable attitude & a willingness to support other team members.
* An understanding of games culture will be an advantage.
* Roster flexibility, including weekends, nights & public holidays as required.
