ROLE SUMMARY:

The Secondary Teacher at Reddam House plays a pivotal role in guiding students from Year 7 to Year 12 through their critical educational journey. The teacher is tasked with inspiring academic excellence, fostering intellectual curiosity, and supporting the personal development of students.
By creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and contributing to the broader school community, the teacher ensures that each student is empowered to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
Teach Commerce and some Business Studies/Economics to secondary students - Part time - 3 days a week - North Sydney location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach Commerce AND Business Studies/Economics to secondary students in an engaging, innovative, and collaborative environment.
* Develop daily and long‑term lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and diverse learning needs.
* Manage classroom resources to create a positive and productive learning space.
* Assess students' strengths, abilities, and areas for growth, providing targeted academic support.Maintain a disciplined, respectful classroom environment.
* Set up and organise classrooms as required for lessons.Supervise students during class and breaks, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
* Prepare and administer assessments, providing timely feedback and detailed reports to students, parents, and school leadership.
* Monitor and support students' emotional and social development.Participate in staff meetings, House meetings, assemblies, and professional development days.
* Engage with parents and guardians during interviews, parent evenings, and open days.
* Support and supervise school events including excursions, concerts, art exhibitions, fundraising activities, camps, sporting events, and presentations.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Passionate about education and committed to the holistic development of students from Year 7 to Year 12.
* Creative and innovative in teaching approaches, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent.
* Accreditation with NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* A valid Working with Children Check.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
* Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up and drop off duties.
* A willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
