**The Role**
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a range of activities and inquiries, taking responsibility for the achievements of own and team outcomes, monitor progress and follow through to deliver quality outcomes.
- Managing schedules, project budgets and resources responsibly.
- Researching and preparing briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the responsibilities of the team and associated issues.
- Providing verbal presentations to military units and civilian employers about your work.
- Identifying risks, issues and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- Representing and explain the views of the agency at cross-agency meetings and other forums.
- Building and sustaining influential and effective stakeholder networks.
- Providing specialist advice on team responsibilities, complex problem solving and issues management for internal and external stakeholders
- Leading a small team and driving ongoing team and self-improvement and professional development, including educating subordinate employees in correct decision-making practices.
- Being prepared to travel when required.
**About our Team**
Joint Services Support Division (JSSD) delivers a range of capabilities and services including Gender, Peace and Security, Youth, Australian Defence Force (ADF) Sports, and Australian Defence Force Reserves and Employer Support (ADFRES), in order to contribute to Defence capability and preparedness.
ADFRES provides direct support to ADF Reserves, their employers and the community. The Directorate comprises four teams: National Priority and Planning (NPP); Regional Engagement (RE); Employer Support and Service Protection (ESSP); and Policy and International Engagement (PIE).
- Effectively engage with, shape and influence stakeholders in order to identify their issues and concerns, develop and analyse options, and facilitate legislatively sound outcomes.
- Undertake and manage enquires into issues which may involve a level of complexity and sensitivity which require considerable interpretation and analysis
- Utilising an extensive understanding and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks, provide clear, pragmatic advice to internal and external stakeholders from the most junior levels up to strategic senior executives
- Undertake policy / legislative reviews and work with stakeholders to implement appropriate changes
- Consider and effectively manage competing priorities and drive own and team's workloads.
